What is Proof of Coverage?

Proof of coverage (PoC) is the algorithm used on the Helium blockchain. 

It uses radio waves to validate Hotspots and their wireless coverage. The algorithm works by adding new blocks and performing different tasks. The major advantage of Proof of Coverage is that you don't need expensive GPUs for mining. A Helium Miner uses only 5W per hour.
